“I learned that courage was not the absence of fear, but the triumph over it. The brave man is not he who does not feel afraid, but he who conquers that fear.” – Nelson Mandela
You know when you have those random uncontrollable moments and panic begins to engulf you? When you cannot see clearly and the only thing that seems to eminent from the situation is perceived as darkness? We’ve all been there.
One would ask themself, “Out of all people, why me?!” Through the lens of others, you may seem composed outside but you’re really panicking on the inside. Depending on your ability to cope, there is a notion to fight - flight or simply just freeze when we feel fear, threat or danger. It boils down to having this evolved system for wanting security, stability and predictability in our lives. I mean, in times of chaos, who wouldn’t want to know what would happen next, right?
But as you go along your way and if you’re reading or listening to this, you already know that nothing is set in stone. As they say, life is fair because it’s unfair for all of us.
So here is the thought, what can we do in situations that fall outside of our control? Be Light.
To be a thriving individual, we all must live authentically. There are some situations that might knock us off balance for a moment but that’s okay. It is necessary to look beyond what’s keeping you stuck and recognize that most of the time, we have the answers to many of our own problems - and all it may take is a willingness to draw out our own light to help see the way through. Seeking to stay rooted to the truth that if there is chaos and darkness, there can also be light.
